I'm on the State waiting list for child care assistants and it will take about 1 year. The father cannot pay it nor anyone else and I must work. What Do I do? I'm worried sick about what is going to happen next.

  1. look for a work-at-home job.

  2. Call your counties Social Service office. See what they can do to help you pay for day care. I am not sure what state you are in but in Ca we have a program called 4c's they can help you pay for day care.

I would also talk to local day cares and see if they have a subsidy program to help low income families pay for day care based on a sliding scale. There are programs out there to help single moms pay for day care. You just need to look for them

  3. I know how you feel. I have no family to help me either. What else can you do but go on public assistance and public housing until you can get the childcare paid for? You won't have to work. I would go and apply for that. Go to your county's job and family services and tell them your situation. They may have a program that will help you.

  4. what state are you from? I'm from CA, its different even in other counties. But usually, You could hire an "eccentric" babysitter. Basically she takes care of your kids at her house and she has to apply to your local Office of Education. They give her a permit, in which she could only take care of your children, no other family. Usually you could pay her from $10-$20 per day.

Hope this info helps..I know its difficult.

  5. Go to a close relative. A neighbor, a friend. Talk to your boss. If all fails maybe you can bring them to work...

  6. i would go to a close realative and c if they would help u.

  7. Do you currently work?  If not, try finding an employer that offers Daycare benefits, ie..Bank of America or Hospitals!  If you are already employed, talk to them about this and see if they have any solutions or resources; so they don't potentially lose you.  Have you checked with in-home daycares and daycare facilities?  Do they have any kind of daycare in your city that goes of a sliding scale?  Keep looking and trying it will work out exactly like it supposed to!

    Good luck!

  8. Ask and apply for Title 1 program. It helps with childcare but it's income restricted so if you do not make much then you should apply.

  9. maybe a family volunteer would be able to look after your children two days a week or at night and you could get a part time job don't worry about money though it will be a though struggle but if you talk to the council they will help you and maybe give you some extra help with money x

also when you go shopping buy own brands or cheaper makes x

  10. I'm so sorry for what you're going through.  I'm a single mom too!  Why don't you ask your mom to take care of your kids while you work and you can pay her.  I'm pretty sure she won't charge you that much.  Also, go and apply for Welfare.  Apply for cash aid and food stamps!  Hopefully you will get approve because i didn't!  "I made too much money!"  Good luck though!

  11. Nothing to worried about everything will work out fine but sounds to me the father needs to get out there and find work.

  12. Where do you live that there is a waiting list for child care assistance? I live in NY and you just apply for the child care assistance and if you meet the income guidelines you get approved and it starts right away, that's odd that they told you that you have to wait. Bring the father to court for support and the judge will have him pay towards the child care which should help. Also there is a program called head start that is free for low income families, I would try that.

  13. Work from home! Open an in home daycare!
