Help! I'm going into 9th grade and they don't give me a list! ?

Question

I'm going into 9th grade, and my high school doesn't give me a list of supplies. I have almost no idea what I should get, and I'm paranoid that I'll look like an idiot if the teacher asks me to get something out and I won't have it. Please help!!

It's high school now.  They won't hold your hand anymore, and they expect you to start taking responsibility for your own success.  It's preparation for life after high school, since you may or may not pursue any more education.  Make sure you have the basics: notebook, pens, pencils.  If you like to be organized, get a binder divided into your different subjects, maybe with pockets in the dividers to keep your handouts.  That's pretty much what you will need mostly, unless you are taking math classes that might require compass, protractor, ruler, etc., but as a previous poster said, they'll let you know.  Good luck and have fun!!

A lot of students are advised to get separate binders for every subject, and teachers like that too.  That way you won't have to carry EVERYTHING.  I carried all of my stuff in my knapsack on the first day, and put it in my locker when i got it.  (I had binders, pencil case...LOCK for locker).  Also, you may want to get a scientific calculator for math, nothing too fancy but you don't want a really basic one either.  So... supplies:

Binders (separate ones, 1 inch will do.)

Pencils

PENS (blue or black)

Scientific Calculator

LOCK

and all the other random stuff you used for grade 8!

Try your school's website.  Sometimes schools post the supply list on their website.  Other than that, make sure you have paper, pencils and pens for the first day.

the first day all youll need is a notebook and something to write with. the teachrs will tell you then exactly what youll need. no worries. and they wont expect you to have it the next day or anything. theyll give you a week or 2 to have all of your stuff. have fun !! high school will be some of the best years of your life.
