Help! I'm going to a pirate themed fancy dress party but dont want to go as a pirate!

Can anyone think of any other pirate-themed ideas?? I was thinking maybe a gold coin but that might be a little dodgy! Thanks!

How about a barrel of rum, a parrot, Lorelei--the mermaid, a ship's--oh it was usually a woman who adorned the ship's bow...bowsprit?  Maybe the spirit of the sea?
