Hi, I used to know these people who got to be really good friends, but were SUPER cheap and SUPER greedy, because of this, we are no longer friends. It really hurt me, but I do not miss them anymore. They were very nice people, but GREEDY. I hated their Greediness so much, but I started to notice since I hated it SO MUCH, I became one. I mean I started to think GREEDY just like them and has been affecting my relationship with people. PLEASE help me GET ME OUT of this MESS~!!!!

  1. Only you can change your greedy habits.  You cannot blame your ex-friends just because you have changed.  Talk to a counselor or Religious person for guidance.

  2. Try to watch yourself for the thoughts that you consider "greedy" and nip them in the bud as they occur.  Perhaps you can re-train yourself not to be "greedy" if it really, really means a lot to you - especially if you hate being that way, and you weren't like that to begin with. Keeping a journal might help.  Maybe you could also share these thoughts with the friends your actions have caused problems with - maybe they can help you catch yourself and change your behavior, especially if they know what's going on and that you don't want to be that way. They're your friends, and they care about you - nobody wants to just throw a friendship away if the other friend is willing to work at it.  It still may not be easy.

If it really bothers you a LOT, is causing a lot of problems in your life, continues affecting your friendships, and you still can't change the way you act, maybe you could consider therapy.
