Help? I am trying to remember a 1970s-1980s Japanese anime movie from when I was a kid. ?

I only remember one scene. There are these huge, round creatures (kinda look like round boulders, bug-like) that have glowing tentacles. These tentacles reach out and touch/heal a girl that is lying in the middle of the open desert/somewhere. Anyboy have any ideas. It has been on my mind for years!
