Help!! I broke my Dads camara!!?

Question

I took it out last night to a friends birthday party. I dropped it and now the lense is stuck. It has got jammed so when you turn it off it won't go back in. Also the actual lense has got a crack in it. It still takes pictures but there so blurry and you can hardly see anything on them.Help!! What should I do? He didn't want me to take it in the first place because he thought I'd break it, and well, I did. What should I tell him? How do I get him not to flip out at me?

OMG well first dont freak out NOBÓDY IS PERFECT i lost my dads cellphone once thats even worst!! well guess what i approached slowly didnt try to avoid but told my mom first so he could tell him and then he would speak to him tell him u didnt mean to and that everybody does these things atleast once in there life and maybe even tell him ull save up from ur allowance or make money and buy him a new camara fathers day is soon! hope that helped~

HI Katie.  Well, sorry to hear of your dilemma.   From a parent's point of view,  I would be angry, too.   Both because the camera is broken and because you were hardheaded when I told you I did not want you to take it.   But broken is broken and that can't be changed now.  But to make you feel a little better,  it is not completely your fault.   1.  your dad should have stuck to his guns and refused to let you take it.  2.  and most important,  those little cameras are made so poorly.  They are advertised to be fun  cameras that you can take anywhere and use in all situations but not so.  They are not designed for parties of events where lots of things are going on and can be easily jarred or dropped.   They are not really designed for kids.  Being dropped is the #1 fatality of those tiny cameras.  I would know since I work at a camera repair facility and have  garbage cans full of cameras that have suffered the same fate.   You did the  crime and now you will have to do the time.   You need to admit to your dad that the camera was unintentionally broken.   It is not cost effecient to repair it,  I can assure you of that.   You must ask if you can replace it and do what you can to get the money to do that.   The only other thing I can suggest is if you are going to replace it,  try not to get the smallest of the cameras.  There is a mid size model which is sturdier, lasts longer and performs better.   If you get enough money saved up,   buy one for yourself as well.

i'm so sorry to hear that broke your dad's camera. I'm sure he'll understand, he loves you. At least he should ::P. I would tell him, i think he'll forgive you from the greatness of his heart. I don't think he'll abandon you lol. I think he'll just go out and get another one, is he of the understanding type? Or, if you have your own money, why not replace it, or get a similar one. ::P. Your dad should understand the situation. After all, they created you, and they need to understand you :P
