Just a few minutes ago i was ironing pants and my thumb touched the hot side of the iron. I immediately put my thumb in cold water. But is there anything else im supposed to do to prevent any damage? Its really only a small spot on my thumb and it the skin looks white and puffy. Ive never had a burn on my hand before....is it gonna blister over and leave a scar?

  1. It will not leave a scar. Try applying something really cold to the burn like maybe a bag of frozen peas. :)

  2. If u have any Aloe Vera u can break a little off and put that on there usually it helps to keep the blistering and scaring down a little

  3. did you run it under cold water...that helps..

  4. it is only have pain for a few days. don't worry it will not be bad just put a bandage with cold water on it k

  5. it should,nt leave a scar. put some neosporin on it and a band-aid.

  6. If you develop blisters don't pop them for any reason, the fluid inside is filled with proteins that will help with the healing of the skin.  Keep the area clean.  The best thing to do is to let the healing do its own thing, don't apply any of the old wives tales remedies such as toothpaste.  There is a cream on the market that might be able to help with the healing, its called Silvadene and there is a link for more information below.  Watch for any signs of infection such a discharge, increased redness or swelling.  Good Luck!

  7. I had the red cross come to my school they said to put a burn under cold running water as soon as possible.

  8. my bestfriend told me that dicing a tomato and placing the diced part of it against ur finger helps.....

and yes, it might turn into a blister but it will go away

  9. Aloe vera gel! It will help re-moisturize the skin, and cool the skin deep down. However, it may still have a small blister. It shouldn't scar, though, unless the burn is severe.

  10. you did good by using water and not ice.  ice can cause more damage.  the best thing to do is keep it clean and don't put anything like neosporin or anything like that on it.  just keep it clean.  if it does blister up don't pop the blister just put a bandaid on it
