Help! I cant get wi fi at University library?

I have an HP tx1308nr Entertainment Notebook, and my wi fi capability has been dead for the past week. I have tried every possibe thing on my computer but to no avail!

  1. You need to contact the network admins for the library. More likely the wireless router is protected with a WEP and or WPA pass key.


  2. You may have a hardware problem. Borrow a USB wireless adapter, install it on the laptop and see if you can get a wireless connection wit it. If so, get a dongle.

    It's cheaper than replacing the laptop  

  3. U of Penn's Library just made it that you need 802.1x authentication your school usually provides the program to do that and you have to register the MAC address of the notebook.  If that isn't the problem and your network card works in other wireless areas then I would take it to the IT person at the university they offer that service here at Penn so I would assume there is someone that can set it up if they changed something.

  4. May be you notebooks wifi sensor hav some problem

    or  server at your library must be off

    also check settings of your laptop
