Help! I don't know anything about traveling?

Question

For my sixteenth birthday I wanted to go see my sister in Cuba. But since Cuba is off limits to Americans I was figuring I could go to one of the places near there. For some reason Jamaica sounds amazing to me.

I have to come up with an estimated price before my mom will even consider it and it has to be kind of low. We don't really have a lot of money to spend on it. So what would be a good place to stay? Hotel or resort suggestions would be greatly appreciated to.

The best deals right now are on cruises, and the good thing is that it includes your food and drinks, so seems perfect for someone on a budget!

Hey, do a cruise to the carribean.  If you want to try, go to: http://www.vacationstogo.com/emailtick.c... and see if you can get a cruise for soooooo cheap.  My suggestion is Norweigan Cruise Lines.

Call a travel agent....Look for the ASTA seal and talk to them....You question did not say where you are from how much money....You sister is going to have to travel to the USA and then to meet you, so you need a lot more information for an [e-mail]

How can you have a sister in Cuba, yet have it be off limits to you?  

Oh, so it's an army thing.  

Anyhow, consider Puerto Rico.  No passport required.  I'm in Ponce, but I wouldn't recommend it, although I do have an open room.  San Juan and Fajardo seem best to me.  The island of Vieques is off of the East coast here, but I can't imagine that it's cheap there.  I think being in Fajardo would make it so you could go to Vieques without having to stay there over night.  Fajardo is also close to El Yunque rainforest and there's a bioluminescent bay.  That's a trip to do on a moonless night.
