Help! I feel like I just got hit with a ton of bricks!?

I was sitting here asking a couple of questions about looking and applying for colleges and then I came to the blunt revelation that I'm going to be a senior in high school this year...that my childhood will soon be over and I will be turning faster than ever into an adult. Usually things like this don't worry me but i'm starting to feel like i'm really going to miss my high school days etc. and that my friends and I will start to grow further apart when we go to college (not sure of the ones they are going to yet). Did anyone else ever go through anything similar to this? Like just feeling that you will miss all of your experiences. And if so what did you do about it?

  1. I think everyone goes through this phase, but some people are more attuned and sensitive, like you.   Just keep reminding yourself that as you pass from one phase of life to another, you will be making new friends and new relationships every day.  While you'll have some nostalgia and melancholy for your youth, mostly you'll be caught up in the wonderful new relationships and experiences that you'll be forging.  The relationships that you make in high school are deeper and stronger than those in elementary; well, the ones in college and beyond are deeper and stronger than those in high school.

And one more thought: I got married 30 years ago to a guy I met in High School.  Our good friend from school was in our wedding party.  We are all still just as close as we were back then!!
