I have to present a project on a book I read over the summer, and we have to go stand up in front of the class and speak for five minutes about our book...I am SOOO nervous because its a new class and I dont know the people that well, and I dont want to look like a nervous freak and forget all my lines! Help what can I do to not be so nervous!?

  1. Take a deep breath before you present your project. Also remember that you know all these people, unless you are new at that school. Have some friends come over and have them sit down with your family and present your project to them. Talk positive things to yourself like "I know I will do great." Good luck! I'm sure you will do great! :) And also try to find people that are also nervous. Practice in front of them at lunch and let them practice for you. Thats a good way to make friends and to help you not be nervous! :)

  2. Just remember that EVERYONE else is just as nervous as you when they do their project.  If you look closely enough, you'll see that they are probably shaking and uneasy too.

Just memorize everything you can, and try to improvise.  Most wont really be paying attention, and the few who are, aren't watching so you'll mess up, they are watching because they are interested in what you are saying, and want to learn more.  If it is a book you really liked, the five minutes will pass in a breeze.

Although this wont help for the current situation, you could try taking medication for anxiety.  This really helped my sister when it came to being nervous.

  3. im a junior in highschool so i know how u feel, just stare at one thing in the back of the class, the whole time, dont look at the kids. my friend actually stands backwards so her back is to the class and reads, lol hope this helps

  4. Just don't make any eye-contact with anyone, it's a breeze!  I've been through the same thing millions of times! :P DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT talk fast, if anything, talk slow.

  5. imagine everyone in their underwear
