Help! I have a problem with Xbox Live?

I have a modem and a router with comcast and when i connect the Ethernet cable from the back of the modem to the xbox (its a 360) it always fails on the ip address and i have no idea whats wrong. please help!

  1. Someone told me this when I first got my Xbox.  I believe that the security of your internet (router, modem, etc.) is too high and won't connect with the Xbox.  I forget how you do it, but you can search online at FAQs for your certain router, modem, or at COmcast.  Hope this helps dude


  2. we kept having that problem too, if you have a computer it's a simple fix.

    for windows XP go to start>control panel>network and internet connections>Network connections>right click on the connection that connects your computer to the internet and choose status. click the support tab on the pop up box, and look at your IP adress.  Now change your xbox IP to be the exact same accept for the last digit.  

    For example: If the last digit of your computer is 1, change the xbox to 2

    This should fix it!
