Question:

Help!! I have two SAT scores!?

Okay, I took the March SAT and got a 520 Critical Reading, 520 Math, and 510 Writing.

When I took it in June I got a 570 Critical Reading, 500 Math (It was harder than the first time), and 530 Writing.

Will colleges take the best sections from each and combine them to make one test score, or will they take the best overall test score?

Any help is appreciated Thanks!

  1. They take your best score from your best test. But they also see all your previous scores on every single official SAT test you took so it isn't advisable to take too many tests.

  2. they take the best score from each section and combine that for your overall score.

  3. Most colleges take the best score from each section, so your scores would be 570, 520 and 530. which makes 1620 which is good (average)

  4. For the SATs they see every score but they take the best overall score.

  5. Colleges each have their own policy when it comes to SAT score interpretations, but many of them will take the best scores from each sections.  So, your score would be 570+520+530.  But you need to check with specific colleges to make sure; you can check their websites, which should have that kind of information in their admissions section.

  6. Each college has own policy for accepting test score for admission. However, by in large, they will take the best total score on same sitting date. So, as your March and June scores are 1550 and 1600 respectively, college will take 1600 score, which will be 570 for CR, 500 for Math and 530 for Writing. This have to be comparable to ACT taker who will be mesured by the composit score.

  7. best from each section

    so you'll have a 570 critical reading, 520 math, and 530 writing.

    good job!
