  1. those long lists above would be for like a week or more. for the weekend, just the bare minimums. Steve d was totally right about the bug spray, which the extra long lists above failed to mention. have fun.

  4. PLUS DONT forget the bug spray ....

  5. Bring:

    --Sleeping bag/blankets

    --sleeping pad, foam or blow-up

--extra clothing, two or three changes

--extra socks (wet socks are a real drag)

    --soap, toothpaste, etc

--light jacket, hat, light gloves - it can get a bit cold at night, even in the summer (the difference between 90 degrees and 60 degrees is 30 degrees...)

    --pillow

--flashlight, for when you gotta answer "nature's call" in the middle of the night

--TOILET PAPER - this is important, really

--any medication(s) you can't do without, such as for diabetes or asthma

--any small luxury item for "quiet times", such as an mp3 player or a book - just remember you have a limited amount of space for such things

There are other things you could bring, just think about what you really need to have and would be in trouble if you didn't have it.

Also, here is a webpage detailing the needs of one particular group's camp. Just modify the list to suit your own needs (you probably won't need things such as "garb", which is better known to most folks as "costumes"; the article/list is geared specifically towards the SCA, a non-profit Mediaeval re-enactment/re-creation educational group).
