Help!!! I need any kind of information about goats?

Question

I am going to get a goat soon but I know almost nothing about them. I wasn't expecting to get one & thats why I am not prepared. I am a responsible person & I am going to do research but I could use some help! If you know anything about goats please tell me. Oh & if you have or had goats I would really like some advice. Thank you!

well a pen would be a good start. it doesn't have to be anything huge. its nice for them to have something to climb on but its not required. you DONT have to have more than one. Its easier on them because they are a herding animal but they can be alone, it won't kill them. you feed them mostly grain. go to your feed store and buy some grain. make sure its not a finisher. you should feed them twice a day, how much depends on the weight, look on the tag of the feed. give him some alfalfa once a day to keep his stomach on track.

For their pen, make it tall enough so they won't be able to jump over, or get anything caught in it. Don't put more than four goats on an acre of land, and the size of the pen depends on how many goats you have. Getting more than one goat is a good idea because they're very social animals.

A goat usually has two 'kids' at once.

First of all, please get more than one. Goats need company or they will get depressed and even die. They need shelter and a fenced enclosure. Goats also love to climb on things like cable spools, stumps, and old tractor tires. They eat hay, alfalfa, and grain. Please take some time to research the particular breed you're getting, and good luck.
