So, for my birthday my family wants to go to a Yankee game with me. However, we can't just sit anywhere and enjoy a game. We have to sit somewhere where we'll see Derek Jeter and hopefully get there early enough so I can talk to him (long story) And so we're all kind of going broke because right now we have been spending a lot of money we dont have. I've gotta be able to sit behind the on deck circle. thats the best place to see him, i think. What are some cheap sites to get tickets? Is there anything can do about this?

Also, is there a chance I can meet him during batting practice? I know they come out then but will the bouncers/ushers be out blocking people from getting beyond that gated area near the seats closest to the field?

thanks for answering. i appriciate it.

  1. Derek's usually pretty cool about doing things for the fans and talking to them. I'd try to get there before BP though. Hope I helped...

  2. Try StubHub, I would think that is the cheapest place to get them.  I've looked on eBay, and tickets go up to so much.  I went to a Yankee game for my birthday earlier in July, and we sat in the right field bleachers... Which are actually pretty good seats.  But in order to get tickets to talk to Derek Jeter... I don't know.  The ones online are really expensive for seats behind the plate or along the first base/third base line.  But I would say get reasonable bleacher tickets (like $30-$40) and get there about an hour early.  Then you would have a chance at talking to him.  :)

  3. That is a tough one.  You are going to have to pay 500 a piece easy through ebay and that is about it.  You should shoot for the least draw of an opponent in the remaining what, 20 or so games.   Stubhub is good but expect to pay even more than that.

There are two problems, where you want to sit, and the fact that you have to try and get a seat at yankee stadium in the final year.

What I would suggest is to go to an away game and sit on the vistors side near the on deck circle.  The best time to talk to Jeter at a baseball game would be before he bats in the top of the 1st because he comes out there early with Damon and Abreau while the pitcher is warming up and will talk to fans.

Good luck.  I would shoot for an Orioles game in Baltimore if I were you.  22-24 late August

  4. http://stubhub.com

thats right clones, where fans can buy and sell tickets

  5. go to stubhub and get tickets and i think derek jeter will talk to you hes a nice guy and i bet he likes to see fans of him. Then when he finds out its your birthday i bet he will talk to you so go to stubhub and buy the tickets

  6. I think StubHub is the best.  Good Luck!

  7. I'd try StubHub if I were you. It's your best bet, but still, that's pretty expensive. Derek comes out really early during BP and talks to fans sometimes, but not always. You'll have to catch him when the Stadium is pretty empty, which means getting there directly as the doors open and being one of the first in line. BP starts before the stadium opens for fans, so you won't be able to get there before it starts, but make sure to catch him before he hits, because after, he'll go right into the field and take fielding practice and then go into the clubhouse to get ready for the game, and he won't talk after that.

Your best bet for talking to him is either right to the left of the dugout (sections 31-33, I think) and right behind the dugout on the side nearest to homeplate (sections 35-37). Unless you can find someone to sell them to you at retail (they're 250/seat), they'll be expensive. People on StubHub sell them for major profit, so especially as it's getting later in the season, the prices will go up. They're all individually owned/coorporate owned boxes down there as well, so you won't be able to buy directly from the Yankees. If you're on a tight budget, I'd say getting a couple of tickets right above the field champ boxes (I don't remember what they're called, but if you've been to the stadium, you'll know what I'm talking about) and try to sneak in. There's a security guard who works in 37 a lot who is really nice about letting people without tickets in during the very beginning of BP. It's worth a shot, but I can't guarantee anything.

If you don't want to take your chances with that, then get to the stadium either really early or stay really late, and stand by the players' parking lot (the one by the press entrance and gate 4 that is surrounded by the blue fence) and wait for him there. They sign autographs if they're in a good mood (especially after the game if they win) and he might talk to you there.

    Good luck!
