Help! I need help picking out a gift for my girlfriend who rides horses!?

My girlfriend rides horses and she does shows/competitions with equitation and western pleasure, and all that jazz. She's going to a show in two months or so and it's really big for her because not only is it a big show and out of state, she's going without anyone else (We're seventeen). I want to get her something for the show to help out and to remind her she has someone back home hoping she does well. I don't know that much about horses, aside from general stuff and maybe a bit more from hanging around with her. What is something I could get her that she'd love? Thanks, I appreciate the answers.

  1. Try getting a horse doll, or maybe jewelery with a horse charm on it. Or maybe a shirt that has horses. She might need something, ask her.

  2. You need to get to know your girlfriend better, if you don't know what she would like.

    Sheesh!

Learn it now, or else you'll be paying for it later, if she keeps you around!

(Oh, c'mon... How well does a guy know his girlfriend, if he has to ask complete strangers, "What does my girlfriend like?" -- If I'm wrong, I'll continue to wear these thumbs down as badges of honor, and of telling it like it is!)

  3. If you go into a tack shop, they have gold and silver pins of which she could pin it to her blouse, I mean.. that'd be sweet. Or maybe even buy her a new saddle pad? They are only like 20 dollars for a all-rounder. (If she needs one.. but I mean, saddle pads always come in handy!)

I say go for the pin :)

  4. get her a bracelet or like a necklace so that she can remember you everytime she has it on.

  5. You're a sweet friend, for a really personalized gift,if she shows exclusively western, western equitation is a class, as opposed to hunt seat equitation(ex) different, may I suggest  silver cameos /conchos/ rondelles, whatever matches her tack to braid into her horse's mane(for western classes just 2 to 3 braids  closest to bridle path   or one for  forelock, I don't know your budget, time frame seems tight, you could have them  engraved with her initials.  For hunt seat ex, stick pin like other respondent, suggested, excellent idea, also can be engraved.  Barring all that a gift certificate to a local tack shop always appreciated.   Good Luck to your friend in her show ,she has a nice friend in you.

  6. Maybe a necklace and earrings that have horse heads or how about pin with a horses  that she can pin on the lapel of her jacket.  Something special that she can wear when she's competing that way she will feel like you are there with her even though you are not.

  7. maybea new saddle..

  8. You could get her a silver pin with her initials on it to put on her rat catcher. (name of shirt under the jakcet)

  9. I would suggest getting her a new show shirt.  There's real fancy ones out there that are popular.  go to www.hobbyhorse.com and check out all the different shirts and slinkies that you could get her.

  10. Maybe some hay...lol
