Help I need info on an Old Coin?

Question

I have a what looks to be silver US dime however it has a coronet head on front with 13 Stars surrounding the head. On the back side there is a Eagle with a O (for New Orleans) and 1854. Also below that is 2 1/2 D. All this put together it should be a $2.50 Gold coin from what I've found on-line, but it's silver in color and size of dime. Any Help

The odds may be minuscule ... but, is there a chance your coin might bear any resemblance to this one?

If so, you might try contacting Heritage Galleries to see if they're willing to assess if your coin might be genuine, and of similar origin.
