Help! I need itunes help!?

Question

I just bought a new computer, and I want to know how to get my songs on itunes onto the new computer. Is there a way? Or do I need to spend $50 on a back-up hard drive to get it onto the new computer?

put them on a disk, email them or i think u can buy a $10 cable somewhere that you use to join computers then just drag the songs from one computer to another

You can probably do this:

Go to your iTunes Music Folder on your old computer:

Music>iTunes>iTunes Music

Right click on that folder and choose "send to>compressed (zip) folder"

Save that to your desktop.

Then email that file to yourself. Open and save it on your new system. If the file is too big to email you can use a free service like www.yousendit.com.

Then on your new system you should be able to go into your itunes library - go to File>Add folder to library - and choose that file that you emailed to yourself (you may have to "unzip it first")

That should add the files to library. I think.

theres hundreds of ways if you have got a pendrive you can fill it with songs then load them on your new computer then keep doing this until done, you could make another email then email the other one with the songs attached but this would take a very long time, the best though is if you have a ethernet cable plug one end into one then the other end into your old computer and set up a network and share songs. or if you know anyone with a portable hdd borrow it.

WHEN YOU PUT THE NEW SONGS ONTO YOUR NEW COMPUTER YOU CAN COPY THEM ONTO THE PENDRIVE, PORTABLE HDD... FROM ITUNES BUT DONOT PASTE THEM INTO ITUNES PASTE THEM INTO A FILE IN MY DOCUMENTS AS OTHERWISE YOU WILL HAVE TO HAVE THE DEVISE PLUGGED INTO THE COMPUTER TO PLAY THEM.
