Help! I share my office with a moron. He talks to himself and makes sound effects all day long. What can I do?

I share my office with an idiot. He is 22 years old and he talk to him self all day long. He make airplane and farting noises with his mouth. It is so annoying. On top of that, when he does talk to me, another co-worker, or even a customer he can't barely even form a complete sentence. I really want to cuss him out and tell him what a r****d he is, but I don't want to get in trouble. What should I do?

I feel your pain; I once worked with a guy who's curse more than a sailor, constantly butting in someone's conversation across the room, farts at his cubicle (which stank the be damned) and constantly yelling on the phone with his ex-gf.

I tried to tell him to keep his voice down, and keep his bodily functions to himself.  when it didn't work; I spoke to my supervisor and let her know disgusting habits.

You should probably try to get to know him better.  His sounds are an attempt to communicate beyond the limits of his spoken skills.  He's trapped within his own skull, and he needs help to break out, not scorn and ridicule.

Talk to your supervisor and explain that his behavior is effecting your work and is not professional to be dealing with customers.  Ask your supervisor to stand outside your office door and listen to confirm what you are saying and if this doesn't help then file a complaint with the HR department.  The disgusting noises should be enough to have him called in and spoken with.
