Help! I want my hair to look pretty!?

My hair is the thickest hair you will ever see in your entire life. Every single time I've gotten a hair cut, my hairdresser has to show everyone else in the entire place how thick my hair is how its the thickest hair they've ever seen. I've used straightening irons. They just don't work on my hair. Everytime I wash my hair it makes it thicker. If I don't wash it though it looks greasy. I always have to wear my hair up because it looks horrible down. Its wavy and really really thick. Straighteners kind of work, but the bottom still makes it look really really thick. I've looked everywhere online, from experts to everyday people on what to do. I've looked everywhere. I really want to be able to wear my hair down then I'm going to college. There were a few girls in high school who'd make fun of my hair. BUT ITS NOT MY FAULT I HAVE CRAPPY HAIR. I've tried everything from short hair to really long hair. nothing makes it look any better.

Anybody been through what I've been through and can help? I really want to look pretty in college. I've a really pretty face, but my hair makes it look awful. Please help! And anyone who finds a solution or close enough to I will vote as best answer!

  1. I had the same problem. (but not that bad!)  I got really tiredof it so next time i went to get my haircut i asked them to get it thinned. Now my hair is alot easier to take care of.

    Hope this helps!

  2. im so sorry! lol.

i hope you find something better than what im going to say! haha.

but i still hope i help a little lol.

my hair looks really bad down too, but its not thick its dry and frizzy and biggg and curly. and if i straighten it will get all wavy like half hour later.

try going to a professional and asking them, or you can get like your hair thinned out at your next haircute (i know it will grow back but it will work for the meantime) when you straighten it you can put it up in llots of different layers so then you can straighten it better, or use some straightening products or something.

hope i helped! and good luckkk=]]

  3. Condition it really well. Healthy thick hair is really nice, but if it really is that thick, I'd suggest thinning it. : )

And you can use hair products for wavy/curly hair like Bumble and Bumble Curl Creme or Herbal Essences.

  4. have you tired layers ?

that might help a little, I'm just not sure how much.

doing that, using a hair straightener, & buying special shampoo might help

  5. You can get your hair thinned out at the salon with some special scissors they have especially for that. If you get your hair thinned every time you get a regular trim eventually you will get down to a managable mass. Along with that a Sedu Straightener is awesome for even the tightest african american curls so it should work on your hair.

  6. Ok, get your hair dresser to give you layers, it'll make your thick hair look a little bit thinner. I know u've tried straighteners but have you tried they Chi? It's very powerfull & works wonders. There's always a solution for everything, have your hairdresser help you.

  7. thick hair is a blessing...and the fanct that its wavy makes it soo much better.. go with it.. wear it like a messy wavy look... use a 2 inch curling iron and intensify ur waves all over..use a little moose to keep the volume ...and when ur done put alittle hairspray..not too much cuz then it'll get hard but u know that...and so yea it'll look great... even if you don't wanna do your hair all you gotta do is when you get out of the shower dry ur hair so its alittle damp n just put mose in it then dry it with the towel...but if you want it straight you might have to blow dry your hair first and then straighten it...

Hope i heped its kinda long but you can do it =^.^=

                      * ~ * THICK WAVY HAIR IS s**y * ~ *

  8. I would suggest getting your hair layered. It would really help thin it out. After it's layered continue using a straightener. I'm sure that'll help make it look more straight and less thick.

    Hope I helped

    Sarah!

  9. My little sister had the exact same problem. Ask your hair dresser for some really short layers to make the bottem look thinner. You can also have your hair razored (This will thin it out. A LOT).

    Hope I helped!

  10. GET IT THINNED.

my hairs naturally curly and thick so it was poofy, and frizzy.

but i got it thinned and its better.

but i got shorter layers so it makes it look poofier at the top so dont do that.

and put anti-frizz cream in it if you have to.

    hope i helped(:

  11. that ALWAYS happens to me lol. okay so what you want to do is go get layers in your hair. but whatever you do, DO NOT let them use anything other than razor scissors. trust me, you won't regret it, and they'll know what you're talking about. if they use regular scissors, it  just looks chopped. that will help thin it out A LOT. and i used to not be able to straighten it, but what you need to do is get a good flat iron. i use a remington wet 2 straight, but only straighten it when dry. trust me, if it works on me, it works on anybody.

    hope i helped! but i have a feeling i will (:

you'll be the prettiest girl on campus!

  12. i have had a hairdresser totally do that to me. and my hair is not even that thick. i use a SEDU straitner tho and i love it.    go to    folica.com

hope i help. get it thinned

    good luck!
