Help: IDE Port not working??

Question

I have an ASRock K7S8X R3 Socket A Board. I recently tried to add a new HDD on IDE port 2 (I have 1 HDD + DVD R/RW Drive on port 1) - and the HDD doesn't get recognised. In fact, no IDE device will get recognized. Anyone know if this is a curable problem? Any help will help Using WinXP with SP2 - no other problems whatsoever with the system. Thanks CDTECH
