  1. Are your tanks planted?

If they are, put the lights on a smple plug in timer.

If they aren't, just tell your aunt to switch them on, feed the fish, and turn them off when she leaves. The fish will be fine with normal room lighting and it still gives them a day/night cycle.

I also suggest you measure out the food into pill bottles or similar so your aunt doesn't accidentally overfeed the fish. Give them a bit less than you normally would, hungry fish causes no harm, overfed fish in polluted water is a disaster.

  2. yeah, the food should b good, besides it takes 2 weeks for fish to starve to death so theyll  be good regardless=] as for the lights, just keep them shut off 24/7. leave a blind open or something... bettdr yet get a timer for the lights=]

  3. i leave my tank lights on all the time.  they aint dead.

  4. Not a good idea to let someone else feed your fish unless you know for sure they know what they're doing.  There's a much greater risk of the fish dieing as a result of overfeeding, than not being fed for a week or two.  And most fish have no problem not being fed for a couple weeks.

I'm not sure about your shrimp.  If they eat plant matter, then just having plants in the tank should suffice.

Lights will be okay on or off.  I'd leave them off if the tank is in a room with a window.
