  1. Your home schooling and behind? Even after all these years I am still trying to understand that mind set.

Home schooling means learning at your own pace; a schedule is no more than a guideline.

Unless you have imposed certain deadlines for yourself to achieve a goal, how can you be behind?

If you do a curriculum that comes with a schedule, my understanding is that you adjust it to your life/learning style, an around the other activities you may be involved in.

If you are doing school @ home through an on line school, and have to follow their schedule then you may be considered behind if you did not get your work in on time.

In that case see if you can ask for an extension.

If this program does not work for you, change to one that will, such is the freedom of home schooling, and directing your own education.

  2. poor child.....u really need to be in public schools now

  3. get a rope

  4. Of course.

What help there is depends on where you are (geographically), where you are academically, what you are behind on, and what your strengths are.

Its a complex question.  A good answer requires more information.

  5. yes, just start working steadily daily, do extra work, work on Saturday, do stuff on Sundays, try to just get up to speed

but don't stress. Homeschooling is SUPPOSED to more relaxed

  6. You are who you are, and you can't be 'behind' yourself.  Artificial time lines don't help anyone, but sure can make you feel bad if you don't measure up to some arbitrary yardstick.

Who says you're behind?  Behind what?  How old are you?  Try reading Grace Llewellyn's Teenage Liberation Handbook.

  7. Of course there's hope!

If you stay really focused, committing yourself to staying focused for 30-60 minutes at a time, you can accomplish 1.5-2 times as much as if you're just kind of working without any specific focus.

If you work from 8-12, then 1-4 consistently, you'll catch up fairly quickly.

If you only take one day a week off, you'll catch up even more quickly.
