Help! Information about cars and teenagers?

Question

I'm going to turn 16 this year and my dad and I are looking for cars for myself. And I just found out insurance can differ with the type of car you have and I'm wondering what is the best car for low insurance since I have to pay for it. Also if any of you are selling a car, know someone who is, or knows where a good place to look for one please I'm looking for a car that is in a 2000 or newer and no more the 6 or 7 thousand doesn't matter if it has damage or not. if you have any information about the the previous please be free to share it.

Insurance rates are highest for cars that are expensive, or are frequently involved in accidents (sports cars), or are expensive to repair, or are stolen often -- or all of the above.

There are lots of good places to look for used cars -- local newspaper classified ads, free "autotrader" magazines at your local supermarket, consignment lots, craigslist.com, autotrader.com, usedcars.com, eBay, and more. Here's an article with a number of other suggestions:

Since gas is so expensive, you are going to want a car with good gas mileage. You are also going to want reliable and I'm sure you want it to look nice as well.

Corollas might be low-end, but they are reliable, and they have great gas mileage. Honda Accords are nice as well, as long as they are a v4 and not a v6. Honda Civics have a high gas mileage, too.

All of the cars mentioned above will most likely be priced in your price range.

Remember, a lot of teenager beat up their first car. I was given my mom's 2007 Scion tC, and I've scratched it up, hit a mailbox, and jumped so many curbs I can't keep track. And I've only had my license since June. It won't be as obvious if you have an older car with a few dents and scratches than if you have a newer car with some dents and scratches.

You need something that kids generally don't drive, that's relatively slow, and not that expensive for insurance to not be high. Something like an Accord or Camry would probably be pretty low on insurance. So would the Chevy Impala.
