Well i got my septum pierced about five weeks ago. I did sea salt soaks for about 2-3 weeks then i switched to h2ocean because my nose started breaking out. well yesterday while i was cleaning my septum with a q-tip, i saw this bump with blood above the piercing in my right nostril. i cleaned my nose the h2ocean twice after i saw that.

well this morning i wake up to blow my nose and blood is on the tissue so i rinsed out my nose and cleaned it with a q-tip and some h2ocean.

i haven't seen any unusual discharge only blood.

please please please help me out!

is it an infection?

I also have to hide my piercing at work. so i flip it up and down a lot.

also when i am cleaning my piercing there are white rings around the piercing holes. when the piercing isn't wet, i don't see the rings.

  1. I just got the side of my nose pierced with a nose s***w 7 the same thing is going on.

BUT mine has slight discharge kinda clear-yellowish

but no it dosent sound like you have an infection.

I would try not to flip it up & down quite as much as that could cause infection mabye

awe & your so lucky to have your septum pierced =)

    Good Luck

  2. I would say that it is infected. If a piercing is properly healed there should be no pain, blood, puss, or anything else. A white ring indicates an infection, also. I usually keep my piercing flipped up but the more you mess with it the more it stresses it and the greater a chance of getting dirt or something in it.

  3. Leave it either up or down - moving it that much is probably whats making it bleed.
