  1. I haven't used the one day treatment but I have a feeling that has something to do with it. I use the normal cream one would buy and it works right away, and I actually don't end up using it for the suggested time period.

  2. Some yeast infections don't react to the over-the-counter treatments. Lots of things can cause a yeast infection. I personally have to go to the gyno to get an antibiotic to get rid of a yeast infection. Some people are prone to them. Also it could be a cervical infection that looks like a yeast infection and in that case you need an antibiotic. I'm a pretty normal mom and I have trouble with yeast and cervical infections. Don't sweat it...it's more of a nuisance than anything else. Make an appointment with a gynocologist and you'll have it over with right away. They see this umpteen times a day. Don't worry. Happens all the time.Since you've said you don't have insurance then look under planned parenthood and contact them and they should be able to guide you a free clinic. There are lots of them out there and planned parenthood is there to help with info on them. Good Luck, but don't let it go - it'll just get worse and itch more and you'll feel miserable. There's help out there.

  3. It could be some other kind of bacterial infection. You should go to the Dr. to make sure.

  4. Your infection is just wearing off... you should be getting better any day now. Personally though, I'd see your gyno. He can give you a one time pill that clears it up in like a day. It's a lot easier, and TONS cleaner!

  5. One day treatments don't usually work.  Get a longer treatment, maybe a seven day one, and you should be okay.

    If not, see your doctor.

  6. I don't know but are you sure it's discharge? Maybe it's the medicine coming out.

  7. Call your local hospital and ask to speak to an RN, this is a free service and you will be given a correct answer.

    Good Luck

  8. No.  The medicine did not work.  That's the trouble with the one day treatments.  They don't always work.

If there is no itching and burning, then I would advise you to leave it alone and let it clear up by itself.  Don't take any baths.  Showers only for two weeks.  No swimming, either, unless you have to.  It should clear itself up in a week or so (as long as it's not burning).

If it IS burning, then you need to try the seven day treatment.  If that doesn't work, then you've got a persistent yeast infection and need to go see a doctor for some antibiotics. Antibiotics should be avoided whenever possible.  If the Monestat burns you (which can happen, it really bothers me - sensitive skin), then another option (which is what I do) is to purchase plain yogurt.  The kind of plain yogurt with live active cultures and no additives.  Then you take a slim tampon and push it half way out of the applicator and dip the end in the yogurt, then insert it into your v****a.  The active cultures in the yogurt will help the good yeasts and bacteria fight off the bad stuff faster.  You can look it up under home remedies if you think this is a crazy idea.  But it really does work and it's a lot more natural than the chemicals in Monestat.

  9. Umm... well i'm no doctor but i can tell u this:

           ASK       A        DOCTOR

    *duh*

  10. There are over the counter meds but they never worked for me. Thirty years ago my doctor introduced me to an old wive's remedy....boric acid vaginal suppositories. Get boric acid powder from your pharmacy. You should be able to get clear empty gel caps there, too, or at a health food store for homeopathic remedies. (Both are very cheap...only a few dollars each.) The trick is filling them. I dip a drinking straw into the powder....hold your finger on the top to keep the powder from falling out and transfer to capsule. Wash your hands before and after to prevent contamination and remember....Boric Acid is a poison! Handle with care and DO NOT take orally by mouth! This is to be inserted as high in the v****a as you can...1 in morning, 1 at nite...usually 7-10 days. As it melts you might have some discharge so you might want to wear a panty liner. If that doesn't work please find a Womens Health Clinic...it could be something else. There is help for you...call a local hospital and ask about local clinics.

  11. ya its normal. But one more thing BETTER SEE YOUR DOCTOR!
