Is 1 kilometer sq = 1000 m sq?

Ex.

1 hectare= ______kilometer sq

would the answer be 10?

    1 km² x ( 1000m / 1 km)² = 1,000,000 m²

    since 1 hectare = 10,000 m²...

    1 hectare x (10,000 m² / hectare) x (1 km / 1000 m)² = 0.01 km²

    when you have sq you add 2 zeros for each multiple
