  1. Don't try to get off with an excuse.Try to be or hope to be picked for the pool. The lawyers ask questions to eliminate some of the jurist. When they question you work in that you watch Law and Order all the time. Then name drop CSI.The prosecution will think you need DNA to believe anything. The defense will think you will just love to go for jury captain just so you can say "guilty as charged!".So you see the trick is to be so good that your bad.Otherwise your just going to get the summons again next year.

  2. The only thing that will excempt you from jury duty is if you are physically not able to do it---so, if you have a good doctor, talk to him/her to see if you can get a statement explaining why you cannot do this.....good luck

  3. Only members of one religion are exempt from jury duty.  Just do it and get it over with.  Getting excused this time just means they will call you again in a few months.  You may be lucky and not even get on a panel.

  4. Oh, just do the d.amn jury durty!

  5. As a citizen we are subject to jury service only once in our lives. That service can be at a coroners inquest or a criminal trial. So only valid excuses should be used. Not a matter of "I don't want" I cannot see how you expect to receive the benefits of citizenship if you are not willing to accept the responsibilities also. There is an answer for you that would work permanently. Immigrate to a non-democratic state where all decisions, especially "Justice" is in accordance with the will of the despot in charge not a Jury of 12 honest citizens.

  6. Be kind and serious, firm, when you tell the Judge and Attorneys. "The accused is guilty otherwise he/she would not be here !" You say this after the jury or each member is asked something about their thoughts and views before the trial begins. This will get you excused.
