Question:

Help!! Knee problems?

I have played sports for about 6 years now. I sprained my ankle last year while in basketball, and my knee has seemed to hurt when I've been running/walking for long periods of time. What's causing this, and what can I do to fix this problem?

Thanks in advance.

  1. how are we supposed to know? try going to a doctor and getting an MRI to see if anythings wrong. it doesnt sound too serious so dont be worried.

  2. Try using a knee wrap when running/walking.  This will support your knee and may take some of the pressure off of it.  Sometimes when spraining an ankle other parts of the legs receive injuries, too.  A doctor told me when I sprained mine that sprains actually cause more problems than fractures, and mine did.

If a knee wrap doesn't help you should seek the advice of a doctor as your knee could be experiencing tendinitis, early arthritis, something involving the cartilage, or something entirely different.

    Take care! : )

  3. try orthotic arch supports from either a podiatrist or the good feet store they really help
