  1. There are lots of websites to search for hotels:

  2. La Linea is a far better choice than Gibralta. Gib is very expensive. £8 for an ommlette and chips!  Ã‚£2 for coffee! Half that in La Linea with good service. If you stay in La Linea you can visit Gib easily and bring out your ration of cheap goodies that most people go there for. Next day you can bring some more out. You get the same ration every visit. Go over and back three times in a day if you want. The locals do. If you stay there, you bring out only one lot of cheap stuff ,when you leave, because you've got nowhere to put it outside of Gibralta. A villa/flat in La Linea is very useful. Also,if you want to travel around a bit,and there are some lovely places to visit, you have to get to La Linea from Gib anyway. I stay in the Hostal Carlos, just behind the Liverpool Pub.The restuarant attached to it is fine.  La Linea isn't brimming with Brits. The Liverpool is the only English place I know  there. It has some lovely restuarants, very cheap compared with Gibralta, and far better quality. There's one on the road that leads straight down to the Gibralta gate from the town centre that is totally gorgeous. Top class and expensive, but beautiful. Gib was a big building site when I was there last. Taylor Woodrow  and McAlpine building loads of million-pound apartments. Don't get me wrong. It is a lovely place to visit. The Botanical Gardens are a real treat. It's on the lower slopes of the Rock,so there are some steep paths. Seeing M&S and red phone boxes so far away was quite cute, but I was  glad I found a place  in La Linea when I saw Gib prices. One one the best websites for the area is Andalucia.com. There's a search button at the top of the page right next to the word' Andalucia'. Click it and enter 'La Linea'. You'll get a list of accommodation sites for  La Linea and all sorts of stuff. The whole Andalucia site is worth trawling around. It's the basic resource for everything in the area, including bus routes, lets, all the usual tourism stuff. I keep going back to Andalucia. It's lovely. A trip to Tarifa is worth doing.Gorgeous.
