  1. You should exchange it. Was it like that when you opened it?

It sounds like the shiny layer came from using the sponge?

You should think about getting a make up brush to apply your foundation...those sponges carry so much bacteria after using it a few times...not good for your skin. Using a brush to apply foundation also creates a nice, natural finish. Sorry, I got a little off topic here.

  2. If you just bought it you should be able to take it back to the store and get an exchange.  It may have sat too long on shelf.  Don't wait too long!  Don't forget to take your receipt they should have a return policy on the receipt.

  3. This happens when the sponge you use is applied on wet skin due to sweat, and then you pass the sponge back to the actual make-up. What you can do is lightly scrape the shiny part, or you can exchange it. For future uses don't apply it on moistened skin, if you are applying through out the day you better off buying the blotting powder that MAC sell.

  4. Thats weird, I buy the MAC studio fix powder all the time and have never had that problem, its my favorite makeup product. I would definitely take it back to the store and exchange it for a new one. Its kinda pricey makeup, so you should get good quality and obviously there is something wrong with that one. And this is random, but if you use the sponge, just to let you know it goes on your skin much nicer if you use a brush..
