Help Me out ppl. My eyesite is -4.50 in my right eye and -5.00 in my left. Is that legally blind?

Hey I know the answer to your question.  The number you talkin bout is your contact lens prescription.  But you ain't legally blind tho.  Legally blind is -8.00 in a contact lens precription and you got a long way to go before you hit that.  Mines is -6.50 in both eyes.  Pretty bad right?  Laser surgery is a good option for people with prescriptions like ours.  I can't see S**t.

No, the closer your eyes are to 0 the better. Your vision is pretty bad, but no, you're not legally blind. You just need some contact lenses or the laser operation.

That's not as bad as mine.

I'm 6.50+ on both sides.  This is with corrective surgery.  I can't wear contacts because they don't make the strength strong enough for me to see.  So I wear really thick glasses with prisms in them.

And by the way.  I drive and I have a clean driving record for 31 yrs

No, you are not legally blind so long as your vision is correctable with glasses or contacts.  You are on the high end of moderate near-sightedness.   To be considered legally blind, you must be able to see no better than 20/200 even with the best glasses/contacts or have a visual peripheral field of less than 20 degrees.

i got same grade as yours,, its not legally blind, but trully a poor eyesight.. legally blind is 200/20 vision.

my eyesight no is -1 n its not too bad.u can opt 4 laser operation if u cant 4 any reason then wear lense if not glasses but its 2  more u have a bad eyesight but u r not blind.

You are not blind at all. In fact, you are only moderately shortsighted. Legally blind is when even with the best available glasses and/or contact lenses you still can't see the biggest letter in the snellen chart (or when your peripheral vision is 20 degrees or less). You have nothing to worry about as you are not even close to blind :)
