Help -Mishandling of car by Auto mechanics?

I just brough my car into the Firestone Auto Service for my 60K maintenances for my Corolla 2004. The car was thoroughly checkout less than a week ago and all that was need was the basic 60K maintenances services.

After I got my car back from Firestone, I noticed the engine shakes and trembles. There are some louder noises when i press the pedals compared to before they performed the service. I brough back the car, and they refused to acknowledge it, and they kind of take a look at it.

Then they use a s***w driver or something and created a 3 inch long scrap on the from of my car.

What can i do about this? Is there a place i can file a complaint?

Can I call my credit card to notify them of the ill service?

Thanks

  1. yeah take it to the dealer where you can get raped by their prices and the repairs are no better than anywhere else.just look for the ase certifications on the mechanics arm.dealers dont really employ better people they just charge more.you will find good techs everywhere you go but you will also find idiots even at the dealer.

  2. You are going to have a hard time getting them to fix the damages.  A girl I work with (we're both in the US Navy) had her car damaged at a shop and she had to get a very high ranking officer to call the shop and tell them that they would be black-listed unless they fixed what they damaged.  Blacklisted means that everyone in the military in that region is strictly prohibited to go to that shop, preventing them from getting most of the business that they usually get.  Even after this was done, they were still reluctant to repair her vehicle.

If you have pictures of your car before you took it to the shop and witnesses willing to state that what you say is true you stand a fighting chance in court.  If you do have these things I would present that to the owner of that shop and bring it to their attention to try and avoid court costs if possible.  You can also threaten them that you will report them to the Better Buisiness Bureau.

  3. well, for 1 thing, you have to prove they did it. iam not calling you a lier, but they might, unless you have proof they did it. they can always say, they never saw you. thats the trouble with some of those quack mechanics. 1 thing you can do, if you payed them by check, call your bank and have the check stopped, that way, they cant get it cashed. if they dont fix your car right, tell them your putting their name in every newspaper, they wont like that, its bad for business.

  4. first of all i spend most of my time dealing with people that taketheir car to walmart firestone and other so called shops then want the car fixed by a real mechanic  i am sick of these franchise stores and the services they provide....

that said i would contact every office and person i could possibly think is even remotely involved in the issue, banks credit card companies BBB local authorities and last but not least the owner of the firestone franchise you went to   get a stement from the last person that looked over the car and shove it in the faces of all these people  then take your car to get fixed since it sounds like they pulled a plug on a sensor o the car(almost all my customers have had this issue)  and in the future please bring your car to a real mechanic  we might cost a little more but im telling you now  it is worth it in the long run
