  1. Let's see...a single mother with a teenage daughter? Ya know what she might really like?

Take a day when you can both spend all day together, and tell her you are going to help her clean house. Put on some great music, throw open the windows, and help her with all the little projects that time forgot. Clean the closets, clean under the beds, rearrange the furniture, scrub the baseboards, all the things that normal daily housework doesn't often cover. The time together will be something to treasure, and everyone loves some help with those stubborn projects. She will cherish the bonding time with her girl, and you will get a chance to get to know her better and offer her a gift that really makes a difference! =)

  2. if i was you..i would get her a little plant a cheap one ...but that little cheap plant will be ver special to her..and it will grow and grow...if she looks after it properly ...and she will know how much she cares for you everytime she waters the plant. she will remember you and always love you ..for who you are..

and that little plant will always make her smile everytime she looks at it ...or you can make a photo frame and put a pic of you and your mum ..having a good time.. awe ..

if you dont like her idea ..making you can make a card that you have made her..and she knows that you have al least tried your best to give her something ..and make her day special,..so special that she will remeber this day yay

    hope that helped you ..

    good luck !!! x

  3. do a portrait if you are quite good at drawing and write something sweet for her!

  4. get her a couch,jk

i think a nice candle (yankee candle) or somehting that she can use daily that she doesnt already have,

    like coasters.

  5. You have anything at home that you can make... Or just cut a rose and like buy her a card.

  6. Diana,

Moms are very sentimental , I know.  How about a Heart Memory  Book that you can make from a folder and decorate it anyway you want and use photos , old cards special quotes

  7. I think it's great that you want to make sure your Mum has a good birthday. You can do one great present for her that won't cost a dime. We always tell people we love them, but usually don't tell them why. If you give her your top 10 reason you love her to pieces she'll be so happy. You can make it into a pretty card for her. That way with the little bit you do have, you can buy her a birthday cake or lunch.

Here's a list I gave my son when he said "Mom, I know you love me but can you tell me WHY?"

1, You're the most giving person I've ever met and I'm proud to know you.

    2. You're always fair.

    3. You try to help make things better and you worry about the people you love.

    4. You're the first to say "I'm sorry, can we just hug and start over?"

    5. You're so funny and you make even a bad day great just by being you.

    6. You make me feel like I'm someone special.

    7. You make my whole life a journey and I can't wait for the next day and what we'll learn together.

    8.  You have the best laugh!!

    9. Yeah, you tell me I'm okay looking even when I look like roadkill. Thank you for that one.

    10. You make me know that this life is wonderful...because you're in it.

Your list will be different but she would love you taking the time to give her the true meaning she has in your life.

  8. My parents divorced when I was six years old. However when mother's day rolled around or my mom's b-day I always asked my dad for a little cash. Maybe you can do the same? I think if he understands that it's for you, the need to please your mother he'd do it.

Or you can make your mom something like a photo frame iwht your picture in it, or you can make her a coupon book like "Good for one free back rub," or "A big Bear hug, redeemable at anytime"

  9. Have you asked your dad if he will give you some money to buy your mom a present?

or even for his advise for a present?

remember, even though they are divorced, you are still the daughter of both of them ( and I bet they both love that)

    AND

He loved your mother once - or you wouldnt be here ;)  - so he prolly has a good idea of what she likes...

if not, then you are probably the next best expert on what she'd cherish...

Something from you, or made by you especially for her, is going to make her day.
