Help Moving Out.?

I am 19 with a well paying job and will be going to college part time. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on successfully moving out from my parents house and finding a place with my girlfriend of 3 years. I already have a good car, and have enough in savings to pay for my college classes in cash. I pay for my car insurance, cell phone, and car already, and have plenty of extra cash on hand. I am just wondering if anyone had any pros and cons on moving out so soon. Thanks in advance!

  1. Just don't waste your money on unnecessary things. You need to remember now that YOU have to pay the bills and you're going to have a greater responsibility. Therefore all of that "extra cash" isn't going to be just lying around anymore if you want to live a decent life. Keep saving your money and if possible apply for FA http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/index.htm at the college you're going to attend so that you won't have to spend as much money. Good Luck in your endeavors.

  2. If you think you can handle all the extra bills then its all good. Remember if you move there will be rent, utilities, cable if you get it, Internet, and phone bills.  If you move into a duplex setting there will be water bills, as well as garbage.

My advice is really research how much it will be for you each month.. Then factor in the months that you have to pay for classes.  Do a budget, and if your girlfriend will move with you if she will work not.  If you think it will be a stretch for you then don't move out yet. Save your money, pay down your car if you have payments on it.  It will show you and your parents that you are responsible.
