Hi - My son is 4 years old and Autistic. He also has bad epilepsy. He also does not speak. He needs to receive Audio Integration Therapy.(AIT). AIT has been very successful in helping kids with Autism reduce anxiety and even speak! However, AIT is not covered by insurance companies. It i sabout $2500 here in Chicago. We tried getting a few grants, our credit is c**p - due to over extending ourselves paying hospital bills. Are there any websites that set up and ask for donations? I thought I'd never resort to this - but people are on the web geting their credit cards paid off....just thought maybe someone would want to help my little buddy....Please BS remarks this has been challenging enough. Here's his website www.freewebs.com/kamend Thanks in advance

  1. Try Medi-cal if you don't have much money.  You can also try the public school.   There are also autistic  socieities everywhere that might be able to help.  Do a google search.

  2. i've known a number of families taht used AIT--some say it is a miracle-many see no improvement.

Have you applied for SSI (social security) for your son? (there are income limits)

also apply to the division of developmental disabilities--they have assistance ranging from respite care to grants for related expenses
