Ok. So I have a Ford Focus ZX3. Its a really cool car by the way. But It only has like 96000 miles on it and for some reason my rpm's in 2nd and 3rd gear go way up when i press the gas but my car doesn't gain any speed. Its not hard to shift and my clutch pedal just seems a little more easier to press in then normal. I really have no clue...My friend said it could just be clutch fluid but i think its more serious...If you know let me know what i'm getting into. And let me know if you know the price of how much it will cost to fix

  1. it sounds like your clutch is worn out and it is time to replace it, like above stated don't drive it too much more or you will have to replace the flywheel too.

  2. The increase in rpm without an increase in speed definatly means its slipping. Sorry, but to do it right, it's going to cost. If you keep driving it that way you may need a new flywheel too.

  3. Check first the adjustment of the clutch cable or push rod. If all are ok change your clutch disc and pressure plate, if necessary. Don't forget to check also the oil and the clutch master if all are working.
