Ok I Have A Xp Desktop, I Been Using It For Almost 4 Years. Recentlly When I Start It It Turns Off. I Can use It For Only Like Five Minutes. I Fully Virus Scaned It. The Problem Is My Monitor Turns Off, But The Harddrive's Is Still On With Orange Light. I Thought Something Wrong With The Fan, I Cleaned The Dust Off. But Still The Fan Turn Off After An Hour Or So...What Should I Do? Any Suggestions? Thankz In Advance.

  1. That is a hardware failure and is very hard to diagnose without having the computer. If the monitor works fine on another computer then more than likely you have a power supply issue, but if the hard drive is still running (can you hear it whirring?) then your graphics controller may have failed. If it is on-board (in other words not something you added) then the motherboard might be ruined.

You will need to diagnose the issue by slowing removing parts from the computer to find out if one of the other parts is causing an issue. Otherwise you can get a voltmeter and test the PSU.
