Help. My Sony Vaio VGN-N21E Won't Start?

Question

When i try to turn on the laptop the three lights come on briefly. Then the screen flickers and the hard drive starts but immediately the laptop completely turns off, before the Vaio Logo comes up.

Have attempted to boot from the vista disk. this worked once but wont work again.

Can anyone help please?

it could be huge and you'll have to buy a new one because replacing motherboard isn't gona work for life. or it could be there's isn't enough power to power up the laptop for long due to no charge in the battery and a faulty power dc socket.

you'll have to take it to the specialists.
