Help! My car is making a really strange noise.

Question

It almost sounds like somethings hitting the ground, but nothing looked wrong when I checked. Its coming from the front passenger side. It started yesterday, and it would only do it when i was idling or going less than 10 mph. Now though its almost a constant noise except quieter when im going faster. Im not quite sure but I MIGHT have smelled something burning. But very faint. Oh its an 87 Buick by the way. Any ideas?

One possibility to check is the tire on that side. A partly loosened tread could be the reason for the noise. Change the wheel and examine the tire carefully.

Have someone check the motor mounts on that side.

wheel bearing, if you keep driving it will eventually lock up. Then that tire won't roll.
