Help My dog wants to eat my guniea pig and i dont know wat to do!!!!?

well my dog is a english pointer and i have a guniea pig but my dog wont let me have my guniea pig out its trys to bite it if you know anything help meeeee plz plz

That specific type of breed of dog is a hunter. A guinea pig would be prey. It's not surprising that your dog is interested in biting it.

As a pet owner it is your responsibility to protect your pets. You can go to www.cavycages.com and learn how to build a better, larger cage for your pig what you could "dog proof".

There are many options to you that would prevent your dog from being around your guinea pig. Put it in a different room, put the cage on a table top or dresser. Build a C&C cage that is very tall...

If you are hoping to make the dog and guinea pig friends, it's probably not going to work. No matter how much trust you have in an animal it is still just an animal - and they are unpredictable.

a bit of advice, MOVE THE GUINEA PIG AWAY FROM THE DOG!!! it will work.

You can get a hamster ball, that's what I did with mine - It really works!

When you take the Guinea Pig out, put the dog in another room and close the door!  Pointers are hunting dogs, it's in their nature.  When you have a small furry rodent like a GP with a dog in the same home, you need to take precautions, including keeping your dog out of the room when the GP is out of the cage.

Lol this is why all of my non-dog animals are in a separate room. And when I bring them out to play my dogs are either taken on a walk by someone else for that time or if no one else is here they are put in another room until I am done.

put your dog in another room.

or tie him up outside if you have a chain.

my friend has a dog and he tries to eat her birds when she has them out so she puts him in another room with the door shut.
