Question:

Help! My hamster's eyes stick together!

I noticed last night when cleaning out her cage that both of her eyes were closed. I then wiped her eyes away with a rag and water. Her one eye opened but the other eye stayed closed. I continued to wipe her eyes everytime I saw them get watery. Her other eye then opened. It was weird though because you could see her lower eyelid on the inside. I just kept wiping everytime the eyes looked watery and then went to bed. This morning I get up and check on Penelope (my Winter White Hamster). Her eyes looked better, especially the eye that you could see the inside of the lower eye lid. I took her out and wiped her eyes anyways. I put her in her ball and let her run loose. When I checked on her, her eyes were musus-ey. I then wiped them again and saw on my cotton wipe that what I wiped away had an orangey/kinda blood look. When I wiped her eyes like 5-10 mins. after that it wasn't there. What on earth could this be?? I am so worried about my little girl! PLEASE HELP!

They will give you eye drops for them.

Also, make sure you clean the cage often and properly, give her clean water to drink out of a cleaned out disinfected bottle.

This is also caused by vitamin deficiency, make sure you are giving the hamster proper food and vitamin supplements.
