  1. Hammie needs to go to vet to get antibiotics..or have his foot amputated..or else(sounds like)he's going to die from a systemic (septicemia)infection from his rotting foot...Poor Hammie-Shwammie!!..I wish vet bills were free(you could try & ask)..Hammies deserve to live..just like all pets...their should be free emergency help for them too!!..I've lost too many sweet Hammies because of the huge vet bill...It's outrageous!!..Good luck!!

  2. Call the vet and have them look at it.

  3. Take him to a vet immediately. Injuries to the feet can turn infectious inside, hence take professional help from a vet who can administer antibiotics for him to ensure the infection does not spread to the rest of his body.

Stop using the hydrogen peroxide & neosphorin until you get a confirmation from the vet that you can use it.

Remove all wood shavings from his cage and provide him with only soft untreated / unbleached toilet paper bedding for a few days until his feet heals.

Remove the exercise wheel from his cage so that he does not run on it and make his feet injury even worse.

Feed him some extra protein in the form of bits of hard boiled egg and cheese apart from his normal food. Add a few vitamin drops (available in all pet shops) in his water to augment his health during this time.

Once the vet has prescribed medicines and bandaged his feet, keep him confined only to the ground floor of his cage so that he does not climb up and hurt himself more. You can exercise him in his hamster ball everyday to make up for the lack of the wheel in his cage.

    Hope he gets well soon!

  8. he probably sprained his foot or broke it i think you should take him o a vet it sounds serious ask on this website i haven't tried this website but i bet they can help you!!! http://pet.justanswer.com/JA/ASP_ASK/FID...

  9. I am so sorry...

I have had the same problem. We tried every thing for days, but he died. :( We didn't take him to the vet though. So I would try that. I know that a vet bill is HUGE,but if it is for your beloved hamster do it any way. Try asking people you know around the neighborhood if they know what to do.

I am so sorry!!!:( I know you are so worried, but if he dies just remember that whats going on is nature.

    I hope I helped you
