Help... My hamster is gone... Solutions/advice required...

This morning, my aunt saw my hamster in its tank, trying to climb onto its water bottle. As the tank was high, she thought nothing of it. As she was making breakfast, she realized that my hamster had gone quiet thus she made a check and discovered that it was gone. She did not see where it escaped to and we tried searching at the edges of the hall but cannot find it. We also tried searching our rooms and even the kitchen, but there's so many hiding places for it to hide. I am afraid that it might starve to death somewhere.. Please, any advice on how to find it... Maybe something it likes or dislike could draw it out from its hiding place...

  2. ahhhhhh!!! thats bad:(  make sure you shut all the doors so you can try and eliminate rooms that it's not in. my gerbils have escaped before, but i always find them rather quickly.  but you can try this and see if it works ( i read it in a rodent book that i own):  get a bucket and set it in the middle of the room with some food at the bottom. take a ladder and lean it against the outside of the bucket and scatter food around the ground on the outside of the bucket (not too much though).  hopefully your hamster will get curious enough to climb the ladder and jump into the bucket.  good luck:)

  3. I lost my rat once, temporarily. You have to look EVERYWHERE. As in EVERYWHERE. Like, on cabinets on the floor, they sometimes have little holes in the corners. Take a flashlight and some aromatic food that your hamster will like, and go all over the house. At the very worst, you're going to have to wait overnight and hope it shows up. My rat came out by herself, but she usually comes to her name. But seriously, look for as long as you can.  Oh, and also, keep the door to the room your hamster is in closed when you're not in there so you know what room it's in if it ever gets lost.
