Last night I was using it and all of a sudden it just turned to the apple logo and hasn't worked since. Then it stopped that and just shut off. I tried holding the home and sleep button for 45 seconds just put it back the the apple logo. I hooked it up to my computer twice and its not responding. I don't have a warranty, am I screwed?

Please Help

  1. It probably ran out of batteries...

hook it up and wait 4-6 hours so that it can charge

  2. Unless the iPod is jailbroken, you have a warranty. Just ship it on back.

  3. It doesn't matter if you have a warranty. You can bring it to an Apple Genius and they will explain to you what's wrong with it and try to fix it for free (if it doesn't involve replacing it). Replacing it will cost money, but it sounds to me that you need to reset it, but if it won't respond on your computer then take it to the store. Make an appointment at http://apple.com in the support panel.

Apple has GREAT customer service. They'll help you out.

  4. No you're not screwed, every ipod comes with at least a one year warranty. You could also send it in to apple or take it to your nearest apple store.

  5. If it didn't turn on when you plugged it into the computer then you may be screwed, find an apple store in your area, some malls have them.  They can probably do something for you
