I followed an easy recipe....heat heavy whipping cream to near boil then poor over choc chips. Mix, chill for hour then beat and chill...two hours later and it is still liquidy....will it get thicker the longer it chills? if not, anything I can do or add to make it thicker?

  1. add a little geltine,( following the directions) and it will set

  2. My guess is you didn't beat it long enough.  Try beating it again and then chill it again.

  3. Try put it over hot water... I dun know why.. But I see ppl do that...

  4. It sounds like you are making a ganache not a mousse. A ganache has only two ingredients, chocolate chips or chopped chocolate, and cream. You said you are making a mousse right? A mousse usually requires you to beat quite a few egg whites until it forms stiff peeks then fold the whites with the chocolate and cream mixture. Chill in the fridge.

I think you used too much cream in your ganache. add more chocolate chips and put in a heat proof bowl over a pot of simmering water and stir until chips melt and mixture will start to thicken. Good luck!!
