  1. Yes, you can worm her yourself.  Buy the meds at the feed store. This is not something you should have to go to the vet for but if you feel you need more direction then ask your vet what meds you should use for which type of worms.  The correct dosage can be given by your vet but it is on the bottle/tube.

I use Ivermectin paste/gel for horses or cattle (your vet will say this is not typically used) and Piperzine  (used in drinking water).  He may have meds that target the problem better but those others work fine.  If your vet says only he should worm your rabbits (he won't say that) then find another vet.

My vet works to save me money and so should yours.

  2. His color is broken Harlequin in case you didn't know.  And he got the worms from being on the ground.  Sorry, its better if rabbits are housed above the ground.  Take the greens to him from now on.  and if you really need to take him out side make sure the vet has a good wormer.  Many vets don't know how to handle rabbits.  Good luck.

  3. I usually buy my wormer at the Vet Office, but I give it to the rabbits myself.  Make sure you keep her cleaned up... a damp rag works great in keeping "that area" cleaned up.  Don't let her stay messy.

  4. sounds like fly strike to me!!! my mums rabbit had that and died as is was to far gone, blue bottle flys lay maggots in your rabbits a**s and they eat the rabbit alive!its disqusting and awful for the rabbit, and mostly fatal for the rabbit fingers crossed yours will be ok if your leaving her till tomorrow.

id take her to an out of hours vets now just to catch it quickly.

  5. ewwwww

    put her down

  6. you don't need to pay high prices at the vets just for worms. go to supermarket and buy some worm tablets for your pet. its a lot cheaper than paying vet prices.

  7. sounds like flysrtike, get her to the vets asap because she will be eaten inside by maggots, if you dont get ther treated soon!!

  8. um just take her to the vet and do what the vet instructs u.
