Hello. Let me start by saying, I have had my son ( now 8 yrs) at the doctors for testing ( barium ,with x-rays) and they found nothing wrong with his poor belly.

Problem is that on and off now for about a year and a half he all of a sudden throws up ! He could be either playing and running around or sitting and reading and this problem just hits him like a ton of bricks literally. He starts shaking and runs a fever( not too high, around 101) and for about 2-3 hours after throwing up this happens and then subsides. Then of course he is exhausted. I have brought this up with the doctors and they tell me they don't know why this is happening either....he's not a nervous child or anything. And I am just at my wits end here. In my heart I feel this is not normal at all. Does anyone out there have similar problem with son or daughter or any other relative? Please, if anyone out there might know anything...please help me if you can. I know you're not doctors, but maybe from someones experience you could set me at ease a bit. Thank you for reading this. And please, if you don't have anything nice to say then please don't comment. This is for a mature person to answer. Thanks !

  1. Keep a food journal, it could be something he's eating. Milk does it to me.

  2. I hope your son gets better, but I think you should tell the doctors to check around more areas than just his stomach. Vomitting can come from problems in the gall bladder, probably the pancreas too.

Also, I was watching a medical diagnosis show on discovery health, and this litttle girl had the same problems as your son. Is this happening around the same time, including shaking and all, when it happens? The girl in the show who vomitted and shook for nearly an hour or two straight at the same time every night, and finally they tested her during the same time of night where it always happens, and it turned out to be a form of epilepsy that they put under control.

It may not be that bad, it could be something as simple as an allergy if he hasn't already been tested.

But I hope your son gets better soon, best wishes.

  3. Oh! Im so so so sorry. I hope he feels better. But, that has happened to me before. Also, it might be like a 42 hour fever. Also, have you took him to the hospital and tell them EXACTLY what has happened?

    I hope he feels better.

    Good luck

  4. its acid reflux i have it

  5. READ THIS! IMPORTANT!!Have his doctor refer him to a stomach doctor for test and treatments. He will be okay, my kid has the same thing, we are at the going to the hospital for a few tests, like a blood test.

  6. Take him to a pediatric GI specialist. They ushually can run tests and check things that a regular doctor wouldn't think to check.

  7. take him to the doctor

  8. I had a cousin who was born with an ulcer.  They didn't figure out what it was until he was about 10, I suppose because they just didn't think it was a possibility (kids don't get ulcers right????)  Anyway once they figured it out he finally stopped barfing all the time.

I don't know if this will help but it's worth considering.

    Good luck.

  9. My advise is to try to find any pattern to the response.  Perhaps a food allergy, or a panic attack.  Keep searching.

  10. wow i have never heard anything like this i am soo sorry umm maybe change doctors maybe that will do some good

  11. Most Likely, its the stomach flu.

I get it all the time :(

  12. Have they ever checked his gaul bladder?  I have heard people have a lot of sudden nausea when they have gaul stones.  Good luck, I hope he gets that straightened out.

  13. TAKE YOUR CHILD TO THE HOSPITAL NOW DONT SIT AROUND ASKING STRANGERS ON YOUR COMPUTER I WOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN GONE

  14. this happens to me too sometimes,

but i dont know anything about it either.

i have went to the doctor too and they didn't know whats wrong.

the thing that saves me from throwing up is i eat pickles.

sound weird but they are sour and they seem to help..

thats all i have to say.

    good luck.

  15. Take him again, until they figure it out. That's what they're paid to do. Be forceful with them. Don't take I don't know for an answer. Make them tell you what the problem is. They supposedly went to college. They're suppose to be smart.

  16. i'm sorry if your doctor doesn't know how do expect any of us to...?
