Help!! Need ideas for table topic questions for junior high age?

My 12 year old son is in a communications class. Tomorrow he has to bring 5 to 6 questions to ask the other kids. They have to respond with 1 minutes answers. He says he wants to have some funny questions too. Also, the questions preferably have to revolve around the topic of Spring. But we can veer off that subject if we need to.

Any ideas? Help please! Thanks.

  1. Hmmmm...... well, a question that I think always gets people going is:

1.Which came first? The chicken or the egg? And from that question comes:

2.Ok, so which came first there? The dinosaur or the egg? (Becasue it is said that that's how chickens got here.)

    umm.... maybe

    3. What would you do if you had really bad spring time allergies, and everytime you sneezed, you farted?(that should get some laughs.)

    4. If you could be any spring time plant, what would it be and why?

    5. What is your definition of spring fever?

    6. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go for spring break and why?

    Hope this helps!

P.S. It's good to help ur kid with Homework every once and a while, but I hope this isn't like a habit u have or sumthing. :)

  2. Hmm...HE SHOULD TRY ASKING WHY CAN'T EVERY CHILD GET HIS/HER REQUEST FROM PARENTS??? THE BEST ANSWER AT THE END WILL EQUALLY MAKE THEM UNDERSTAND WHY THEY CAN'T ALWAYS GET WHAT THEY WANT

  3. Spring related....

    Birth / renewal / awakening

Tell us about your favorite birthday

Tell us about your birth (where, when, etc.)

Do you believe the groundhog shadow story? Why / why not?

Spring is a time for planting.  What "seed" would you like to plant in your own life?

What is the earliest you've ever gotten up in the morning? Why?

Just some thoughts - sorry nothing funny though.

  4. mention the word "p**p" and they will laugh

  5. Heres a good topic: Ideas for Earth Day?

What are their favorite flowers or plants.

  6. My 13 year old looks forward to Spring Break every year.  We always go on a trip as a family, but she's getting old enough we've started thinking about trips with friends, drinking/partying, etc. so...

"What are your plans for Spring Break?"

"Would you rather travel with family or stay home with friends?"

"How much, if any, does behavior of older kids effect your attitude about Spring Break?"

12 years old is just the right age to really talk about what kind of person he's going to be and how to avoid the pitfalls that so many teenagers fall into.  Attitudes and pre-decisions towards topics like s*x, drinking, and drugs are being formed and discussed every day with classmates.  Why not bring it into a classroom with (hopefully) good, trusted/respected, adult input?
